What is the average time for an all over color?

Hi Matt, thanks for kicking off our “Ask a Stylist ” section on our new website.

Since I assume you are a guy, I’ll give you the answer for men’s services. If you are looking to cover up gray on short to medium length hair, the average process takes approximately 45 min. to 1 hour. If you are looking to do a dramatic color change for your entire head of hair, first we need to pre-lighten your hair, then we could apply any color of the rainbow that you may choose. This process could take up to 2 hours depending on what the starting point or (base color) is, ie…. how much pre-lightening needs to be done in order for the color to take properly.
