I have recently moved here from the San Francisco area of N. Ca and I really need help. I have had my hair cut by 3 different people at 3 different salons and even after voicing my concerns LOUDLY by salon #3, no one seems to know how to deal with my cowlicks. Help!! I have short hair that I am trying to grow out and my hair grows upward at my neckline. (it’s been over texturized to a moth eaten state, shaved completely off to not touched at all) I had no idea that this was going to be such an issue as my stylist in Ca never balked at it. When I started trying to cut it myself the other day I thought, this is crazy! Can someone there help? Thank you, thank you!!! I will love you forever!!! Jenn

Hey Jenn.
Sorry this response was a bit late getting back to you… my apologies!  I realize you must be so frustrated with your current mishaps by salons 1, 2 and 3!
Short hair would seem to most as being sooo easy because there is less of it … however, not always the case especially with your cowlicks.  This can pose a problem with stylists who are maybe not as trained or just haven’t had the experience of cutting directional growth patterns often.  When searching out a new stylist when you have very specific hair issues I would always suggest to ask for someone who specializes in what you are looking for.  In your case asking for someone who is a master at short hair and addressing your cowlick issues with the front desk.  Hopefully they can direct you to an appropriate stylist.
We have several stylislts here at Voodoo that are veterans in the hair industry and can certainly take care of your needs.  Feel free to give us a call when you’re ready.  Our front desk is very insightful when it comes to addressing issues like this and can appoint you a great fitting stylist .

Best Regards, Ann Castro
